Dr. Sterns is a recognized national expert in the area of gerontechnology and a pioneer in the application of mobile computers and smartphones for improving the quality of life for older adults. He is a fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and of the American Psychological Association. He has led National Institutes of Health grants and contracts in the development of software for medication adherence on mobile devices since 2001. Now serving as Chief Executive Officer of iRxReminder LLC, he is leading the distribution and continued development of the companies complete smart device-based medication monitoring platform. Dr. Sterns served in the role of Secretary-General for the International Society of Gerontechnology and is a member of the board of the society. He has made over 100 presentations for national and international audiences. Dr. Sterns has launched 6 products for older adults, including cognitive intervention therapy, The Memory MagicĀ® Program which is now over 2400 facilities in 7 countries and impacted the lives of over 500,000 individuals living with dementia.
